Other Types of Tumors

The Breast Cancer Update model has been extremely successful in its efforts to bridge the gap between research and patient care by providing ongoing access to the perspectives and opinions of national and international breast cancer research leaders. However, one of the major criticisms of the series was that it failed to delve into other common tumor types. In 2002, after years of requests by listeners to broaden the scope of the series, the Breast Cancer Update team released two new complementary series — Colorectal Cancer Update and Prostate Cancer Update. Like their predecessor in breast cancer, these two audio journals have as their centerpiece one-on-one interviews conducted by Dr Love with clinical research leaders. Qualitative and quantitative feedback from the target audiences of these series has been overwhelmingly positive and in 2004 two additional series – Lung Cancer Update and Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Update – were added to the product line.
